Candle Power

Unit: Candela (cd)

It is very important to know the difference between Candle Power an Luminous Flux. The Candle Power indicates how bright an object can be illuminated at some distance. With a very narrow beam, very high Candle Power can be obtained. But a high Candle Power value does not always mean a high Luminous Flux. An extreme example is a laser pointer: The Luminous Flux is very small but the Candle Power is extremely high.
