spectrum Filters

KELDAN Spectrum Filters are scientifically engineered red filters based on spectral measurements of the lighting conditions underwater. KELDAN Spectrum Filters convert the ambient light into a daylight spectrum in order to restore correct colors and to optimise white balancing.

The filter characteristics are carefully adjusted not only to balance the RGB color channels but also to correct for a very smooth spectrum with excellent color rendering capabilities. When using the Keldan Spectrum Filter at depth, the color coordinates will be shifted to the white light region. Therefore colours can be recorded naturally with a very high color rendering even without using artificial lighting.

Keldan Spectrum Filters are available in three different grades, optimized for three depth ranges.

The above diagramm shows the color rendering capability of the different filters versus the depth

Spectrum Filter S1 with filter thread

The Spectrum Filter S1 for shallow water converts ambient light to white light within a depth range from about 2 to 7 meters.

This filter is available for camera lens diameters: 67mm, 72mm, 77mm and 82mm.

Spectrum Filter M2 with filter thread

The Spectrum Filter M2 for medium depth converts the ambient light to white light within a depth range from about 5 to 12 meters.

This filter is available for camera lens diameters: 67mm,72mm,77mm and 82mm.

Spectrum Filter D2 with filter thread

The Spectrum Filter D2 for deep water converts ambient light to white light within a depth range from about 7 to 15 meters.

This filter is available for camera lens diameters: 67mm,72mm,77mm and 82mm.

Spectrum Filter S1 for Nauticam WWL-1

The Spectrum Filter S1 for the Nauticam WWL-1 wetlens is designed for shallow water and converts ambient light to white light within a depth range from about 2 to 7 meters.

This filter can be changed underwater. It is placed between the Nauticam WWL-1 wetlens and the flat port on the camera housing. I single notch at the edge of the filter indicates that it is a S1 type filter.

Spectrum Filter M2 for Nauticam WWL-1

The Spectrum Filter M2 for the Nauticam WWL-1 wetlens is designed for medium depth and converts the ambient light to white light within a depth range from about 5 to 12 meters.

This filter can be changed underwater. It is placed between the Nauticam WWL-1 wetlens and the flat port on the camera housing. Two notches at the edge of the filter indicate that it is a M2 type filter.

Spectrum Filter D2 for Nauticam WWL-1

The Spectrum Filter D2 for the Nauticam WWL-1 wetlens is designed for deep water and converts ambient light to white light within a depth range from about 7 to 15 meters.

This filter can be changed underwater. It is placed between the Nauticam WWL-1 wetlens and the flat port on the camera housing. Three notches at the edge of the filter indicate that it is a D2 type filter.
